These pictures are of one of my pointe shoes. I decided to photograph this shoe because I spent so much time in them doing what I love. The biggest challenge I faced with these pictures, was figuring out how to hang the shoe. I ended up tying the shoe to the rod holding up my curtain, and using the curtain as the background.

For my second object I chose this small coin bank that says "For Safe Keeping". I chose this item because I have collected pennies in this bank since I was very little, so it has sentimental value. I really like the way this photographs, because when you take a close up of the little man on the top, I feel it brings the characters to life.

I decided to photograph and apple for my third object. I chose this apple, because I love apples, and I eat them everyday. One of the challenges I faced when taking these photos, was maneuvering the apple in a way that didn't show the large bruise covering most of one side. Overall, I think the photos turned out well.

Artist Statement: My next object that I photographed is a shell. I found this shell in the Bahamas, and I've kept it ever since. While taking these photos, I struggled with finding new ways to position the shell. Over all I like the way these came out because you can see the left over gains of sand that lingered inside the shell.
Artist Statement: The last object I decided to photograph is this small box that I use to keep my rings in. This object means so much to me because it was my grandmothers, and I have always admired its detail. I love the way these turned out because you can really see the intricate detail of the flowers all over the box, as well as the gold detail surrounding the lid.
